I can't remember when I picked up my first camera, but I can remember certain moments when I had a camera in my hand - my first darkroom when I was 10, my first official "photography job" at camp when I was 14, the moment the words ISO, aperture and shutter speed FINALLY made sense (thanks Me Ra!). In between all that I have been a hairstylist, a graphic artist (still a side job!) and mom blogger, I've spoken on photography and design at blogging conferences, worked with Proctor and Gamble, Sabra, Lee, Sony, published authors and high-profile bloggers. But the camera kept calling me back - especially after I had my two boys. What was a familiar friend became a passion. On the personal side - I am a fabulous friend, a fan of all things awesome (including, but not limited to: cupcakes, ruffles, my ipad, mustard yellow and grey together, anything vintage, mason jars, funky aprons and a good steak), a fabulous photographer (DUH) and mom to two of the nuttiest little boys I know. I love finding out what makes people tick and will probably ask a million and one questions - How did you come up with your kid's names, how did you and your husband/fiancee/best friend/significant other meet? Your favorite cupcake flavor (yellow cake, chocolate frosting for me)...

I had such a blast taking photos of this family – we’ve known them for the last 2 years, and one of the little girls MAY have been my son’s first “girlfriend” – no one’s talking though….lol

It was the biggest pleasure photographing this family last weekend – I’ve known them for almost 20 years (eep!) and it was like photographing my OWN family. The only thing having more fun than we were were the mosquitos!
